About the AP Poll
The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll has been a cornerstone of the sport since 1936. Each week during the season, a panel of 62 sports writers and broadcasters from across the country cast ballots ranking their top 25 teams.
Teams receive points based on their ranking in each ballot β 25 points for a first-place vote down to 1 point for 25th place. The team with the most total points earns the top spot in the poll.
The AP Poll is released every Sunday morning following the conclusion of the weekend's games. It is one of the most widely recognized and debated rankings in all of American sports.
